The Department of Public Works responsibilities are diverse and complex, covering all four seasons. The Department is
comprised of the Highway Division, the Refuse Division, the Recycling Division, the Traffic Maintenance Division and the
Fleet Maintenance Division. The Department of Public Works is responsible for the collection of all refuse and recycling.

The Highway Division is responsible for a multitude of tasks. They are responsible for maintenance of all City streets
and bridges, avenues, courts and alleys, as well as snow removal from all City streets.

The Recycling Division is responsible for White Goods Pickup.

• Any calls after 4:00 p.m. please contact the dispatcher at (570) 348-4178.
  
• Any calls regarding traffic lights out or signs down, please contact COMM Center at (570) 348-4141.
• If a holiday falls in the workweek, all pickup will be delayed by one day.
• Any calls regarding handicapped signs or parking permits, please call (570) 348-4180 Ext. 12.
• All white goods including refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc. for pickup
  must be called into the dispatcher.
