The Scranton Police Patrol Division is broken down into three shifts.
They are A-B-C Shifts.

The Patrol Division consists of Police Officers and Supervisors that provide 24-hour protection to the residents of Scranton. The Division acts as initial responders to all types of police related calls.

The Patrol Division of a Police Department is commonly known
as the “back bone” of the agency.  Many of the Supervisors and
Officers who work within the Patrol Division are educated, trained
and experienced in a number of specialized areas of law enforcement. Some of specializations include; narcotics investigations, criminal interdiction, criminal investigations, special operations/tactics, crisis negotiations, accident reconstruction, DUI enforcement, and incident command systems.
