Guidance for Public Access

The following City facilities will reopen to the public on Monday June 29, 2020:

CITY HALL 340 N Washington Ave
Residents visiting City Hall will use the Treasury Office on the first floor for all Treasury and Licensing, Inspections
and Permits business.

All other business will be by appointment only. The City is taking the following steps to ensure the health and safety of all employees and visitors at City Hall:

  • One-way entrance and exit to the Treasury Department Office
  • Video camera and doorbell at the accessible entrance on Dix Court
  • Plastic barriers were installed at the service counter
  • Hand sanitizer stations are available at the entrances and exits
  • Masks must be worn by visitors and staff at all times
  • Frequently touched surfaces, including the service counter, door handles, and elevator buttons will be cleaned frequently throughout the day

Residents visiting DPW can use the visitor entrance. There are plastic barriers in the reception area and hand sanitizer stations will be available. Visitors are asked to wear masks and to remain 6 feet apart while in the lobby.

Residents visiting City Fire Stations are asked to keep 6 feet apart and must wear masks. 

Weston Field House will reopen at 50% occupancy. Visitors must wear masks while entering and exiting the building. Hand sanitizer stations will be available. Guidelines will be posted throughout the facility. City pools remain closed at this time. Playground equipment will be available for use and team sports may resume.

Notice is hereby given that Scranton City Council will hold their regularly scheduled weekly meeting on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. The Council will hold a caucus at 5:45 p.m.  In order to comply with Mayor Cognetti’s emergency proclamation, which restricted public access to City Hall, the meeting will be live streamed at
