  • Keystone Mission and the Weinberg Food Bank (CEO) have partnered together to offer the Emergency Food Assistance. The program will provide emergency bags of food for families, individuals, or seniors in the community who are in need and have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Examples may be loss of a job, unable to work and provide for family, or those who are unable to support themselves or their families.   • St. Francis & Clare Progressive Catholic Church 98 Larch St Scranton PA 18509 will continue their food bank. Residents can contact them through their Facebook page www.facebook.com/francisandclarecatholic/ to request delivery or make an appointment to pick up at the church.

  • Friends of the Poor is holding an emergency food giveaway on Wednesday, March 18 between 3:30PM and 6:30PM. The food distribution will be held at 240 E Elm St, Scranton, PA.

  • Scranton School District - COVID-19 Summer Food Service Program Update 3/19/20
    In an effort to accommodate the students travel needs to and from the service site, provide a more seamless meal service and maximize resources the Scranton School District and Aramark Education Services have been authorized by the Division of Food and Nutrition to provide unitized meals for multiple days, including meals for over the weekend. 

    Effective Monday March 23rd, 2020 and until further notice free breakfast and free lunch will be provided to all children
    in the community
    18 years old and under.  Participants may receive a meal at any of the sites listed below regardless of where they normally attend school.   Children will be offered both breakfast and lunch for multiple days between the hours
    of service below.

    Meals will continue to be served at the front door of each school.  In accordance with the USDA waiver policy of non congregate children will not be allowed to consume the bagged meals at the site of service.
